We have almost made it thru this year. We have only the November meeting, Nov 6 at Things & Wings Southside, The Classic and the End of year Banquet.
Please be sure to come to the November meeting. We will have election of next year officers, and if you ain't there I will nominate you for every office. We will be giving out the plaques for gold table and sponsors if you haven't already gotten them. We will also be making the final plans for the classic.
I can't think of much else. If you think of anything post a comment or call me.

Dothan Bassmasters 2007 - October - Lay Lake Results
It was some tournament at Lay with the team of Mathis & Leatherwood whooping the competition. Dwan Pilcher and Gill Bristow held on to second and Max Adams managed to chase down a last minute partner to capture 3rd. I hope I can get the spacing so that you can understand the complete results. I added wrong at the landing and JJ and Leroy had 1 pound less than I calculated.

Dothan Bassmasters 2007 - October - Lay Lake
We have a couple of reports on the lake and ramp conditions. The lake is about 3' below full pool. This should not cause problems running if you stay in the boat channels. Some of the landings are questionable. Leroy made a trip up there and gave an excellent report on every landing he could find. I wish I was able to give his report as good as he did but I was a little under the spirit when he was reporting to me. I am sure he will enter a comment here if I get it too wrong.
The two most usable ramps are the one close to the dam at the very south end of the lake and the landing at Beeswax creek a little above the mid-lake area. Leroy reported that the docks at all landings were 4 to 5 feet above the water. There is another landing that he did not find, I think it is called Paradise Point? We will try to check it this Friday.
The following was added from Leroy:
The public landing (just above the narrows)has a double wide (side-by-side with no divider) ramp. There is a hole in the concrete (below the water level) with a large piece of concrete beyond the whole. Putting in there would be very tricky especially in the morning before daylight--even then only one boat at a time could be launched.
Max Adams is looking for a partner. Call him!

Dothan Bassmasters 2007 - October Ramblings
Howdy, just some notes for your info.
We forgot to have an officer election at our last meeting. We will let you know what we can do.
Remember the 2 day at Lay Lake, Oct 20 & 21. We have reservations, in my name, at the Guesthouse Motel in Clanton. The phone numer there is 205-280-0306. We have 12 rooms. It will be first come first served if we have more than 12 teams show up. The club will pay for the rooms for Friday night and Saturday. If you are going up before Friday you should call and tell them you need one of our rooms earlier at your expense. If you do not clear the room early Sunday morning you will be responsible for the late checkout.
If you haven't heard the Florida nonresident fishing license has gone up to $47 per year. I hope next years tournament committee will keep that in mind. I think we should show FL we don't have to fish there.
